The Lodge
How many guests does the lodge sleep? Miyuki Mountain Lodge sleeps up to 20 guests across eight bedrooms. The lodge includes two master suites with private ensuites, and six twin bedrooms with shared access to two bathrooms.
Is the whole lodge rented as one booking? Yes. Miyuki Mountain Lodge is available as an exclusive whole-lodge booking only. You'll have the entire property to yourselves for the duration of your stay.
Is the lodge suitable for children? Absolutely. The lodge is well set up for families — the 1F master suite sleeps two adults and three children, and the 2F master suite sleeps two adults and two children. The twin rooms can accommodate additional children as needed.
Is there parking at the lodge? Yes. We reccommend guests rent a car during their stay for the best transport option.
Location & Getting There
Where exactly is the lodge? The lodge is located at 1556-67 Taguchi, Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture — approximately a 5-minute drive from Myoko main street, where you'll find restaurants, bars, ski rental shops, and convenience stores.
How do I get to Myoko from Tokyo? Take the Hokuriku Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Myoko-Joetsu Station — the journey takes approximately two and a half hours. We suggest you arrange to collect your hire car from Myoko-Joetsu Station. The lodge is then a 30 minute drive.
Can you arrange airport or station transfers? We can point you in the right direction for local transfer services. Get in touch when your booking is confirmed and we'll share our recommendations.
How far is the lodge from the ski resorts? The lodge is within easy reach of Myoko Kogen, Akakura Onsen, and Ikenotaira ski areas. Exact travel times depend on which resort you're heading to — however there are many resorts within 5 - 30 minute drive.
Is the lodge accessible in winter conditions? Yes. Snow clearing is arranged for the lodge and access road as part of the property's winter management. That said, we recommend four-wheel drive vehicles when hiring a car — conditions in Myoko can be deep.
Skiing & Activities
Which ski resorts are closest? Myoko Kogen is the primary resort, with Akakura Onsen and Ikenotaira also nearby. All offer a mix of terrain for different ability levels, and the area is known for uncrowded runs and exceptional powder snow.
How much snowfall does Myoko get? Myoko receives an average of over ten metres of snowfall per season, fed by cold air moving in from the Sea of Japan. It's consistently one of the best powder destinations in Japan.
Can you help with ski hire and lift passes? Our local management team is happy to point you toward trusted ski hire and lift pass options in the area. Just ask when you arrive or get in touch ahead of your stay.
Is there anything to do in summer? Myoko is a beautiful destination year-round. Summer and autumn bring hiking trails, cycling, lake swimming, and access to the area's natural hot springs. The lodge is available outside of the winter season — contact us for availability.
Facilities & Practical
Is the lodge heated? Yes. The lodge is equipped with split-system air conditioners throughout, supplemented by a kerosene heater in the entry areas and portable heaters in the twin bedrooms.
Is there a drying room for ski gear? Yes — there's a dedicated basement drying room for boots, gloves, and base layers, plus a ski rack for storing equipment off the living areas.
Is the kitchen fully equipped? Yes. The kitchen is fully equipped for group cooking — everything from a simple après-ski meal to a full group dinner. If you'd prefer to bring in a private chef, we can help with recommendations.
Is there WiFi at the lodge? Yes, the lodge has internet.
Are there onsen nearby? Several local hot spring facilities are within easy reach of the lodge. A soak after a day on the slopes is one of the quiet highlights of a Myoko stay — ask our team for their recommendations, or search Google.
Is the lodge non-smoking? Yes. The lodge is strictly non-smoking indoors. Smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas only.
Are pets allowed? Pets are not permitted at the property without prior written approval. Please contact us if this is something you'd like to discuss.
Bookings & Pricing
How much does it cost to stay? Nightly rates start from A$2,750 for the whole lodge for 2026/27 season. Rates may vary by season and booking window. Please enquire directly or check our Airbnb listing for current pricing and availability.
How do I book? You can book through our Airbnb listing, or contact us directly. For group bookings or longer stays, we recommend getting in touch directly so we can find the best arrangement for your group.
When is the lodge available from? The lodge will be ready to welcome guests from 1 November 2026, in time for the 2026/27 winter ski season.
What is your cancellation policy? Cancellations made more than 60 days before arrival will receive a full refund of the balance paid, with the deposit forfeited. Cancellations 30–60 days before arrival forfeit 50% of the total booking value. Cancellations under 30 days forfeit 100%. We strongly recommend travel insurance with cancellation cover. Is a deposit required? Yes — a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total booking value is required to confirm your reservation.
Is there a security bond? A security bond of ~A$1,000 is required for direct bookings. This is released within 7 days of your departure, subject to the property being left in good condition.
